If you could imagine a fun day off, what would you do? Recently, I tried a new coffee shop in Bennington and found a beautiful walking trail near a lake! I thought I'd share these new favorite spots with you since it turned into such a perfect afternoon...  cup & coneI started my afternoon off at Cup & Cone in Bennington, which is an ice cream and coffee shop! I ordered the Oatmeal Cookie latte. I thought it had good flavor and I'm excited to go back and try their other lattes! Visiting this shop is fun in itself since it's nestled right in downtown Bennington. Check out their social media before you head in. They have great Instagram reels of their famous ice creams & drinks!  prairie view recreation areaI'm so happy I stumbled upon this spot. Prairie View Recreation Area has a pretty lake along with a walking trail with stunning views! I felt very safe walking this trail alone and this place is pretty big, so it didn't feel crowded. It was beautiful and some of the trees still had their fall color. I saw many people fishing at this lake too, so it may be a fishing spot worth checking out!  I'm so glad this place exists. It is located in a great area too, N 180th and near Bennington Road. This would be a fun place to grab lunch and do a picnic. There are beautiful views all around the park and shaded picnic tables to sit at!   I really enjoyed visiting this park, especially because it was free! I would consider it one of the best walking trails in Omaha. About 1/4 of this trail is in a wooded area and it still felt incredibly safe to walk through alone. I also saw a few bikers pass by, so it seems biker friendly!  It has been so fun to explore Bennington, Nebraska. I can't wait to see more!
