This article is sponsored by Wild Elm Cabin. I was given a sponsored stay in exchange for written + creative content. However, I never promote places I don't love! All opinions are my own. As the holiday season approaches, I'm already thinking about how I can disconnect and relax. Recently, I stayed at the Wild Elm Cabin in Lincoln, Nebraska and it was just the change of scenery I needed! Tucked in an urban forest three minutes away from Union College, sits a beautiful wood cabin. If you're looking for a spot to unplug and quiet your mind for a weekend, you need to stay at the Wild Elm :) a quiet cabin getawayThis cabin isn't something you see everyday. It was built with high ceilings, big windows, and accents that you've pinned your whole life on Pinterest. Think mermaid pink backsplash! Each space has its own personality and I had the best time lounging in every spot. The living room is a great place to crack open a book, especially with a pretty, up close view of the forest. I'm currently reading Dreamland by Nicholas Sparks, which came out last year. My husband, Trey, bought me this book for my recent 27th birthday :) Thanks honey! One of the first things I did when I checked in, was take a hot bath. I visited the Farmer's Market at College View before I got there and it was a little cold outside! I broke out an avocado face mask and soaked, while watching one of my favorite Youtubers, Cecilia Blomdahl. She lives on an island off the coast of Norway and her slow living lifestyle is so fun to watch! where to eat in lincoln, NeI really enjoyed cooking during my stay, the kitchen was so cozy. One night I made four cheese ravioli and it was so nice to sit in the quiet at the counter. I could taste every bite! A restaurant I love that is nearby is the Piedmont Bistro, especially their breakfast menu. Their biscuits 'n' gravy is my favorite! Goldenrod Pastries is also super close, about three minutes from the cabin. This is a fun bakery to grab a quick bite, especially if you're heading to the Holiday Harvest Market! You can find pecan rolls, crumble-buns, and banana bread. I've heard great things about their macarons as well! Take a look at their menu. I love that Wild Elm is in Lincoln. If you need to get out of the house, but don't want to drive eight hours to Colorado, this cabin is perfect for a weekend away, especially in the fall. The cabin is only 10 minutes from Memorial Stadium as well, so it'd be really convenient if you're in town for a Husker game day! things to do in lincoln, neThere's plenty to do near the cabin too. Cooper & Co. is only a five minute drive and you will be blown away by their trendy home decor, which is also reasonably priced. Black is my favorite color and they always have something cool I want for my apartment! I mentioned earlier I visited the Sunday Farmer's Market at College View. It felt so nice to be outside and browse the local vendors, along with the many enticing smells from cooking popcorn and different cuisines on the grill. A few booths I liked were Bright Hope Family Farm for flowers, Capi de Tutto Pasta, and Lucky Larry's Healthy Dog Treats. Hunter's Honey has a booth too, which we've used in many recipes lately and love! TIP: They will be putting on a Holiday Harvest Market during November and in December, they will move it inside. I love this because the fun doesn't stop when the cold rolls in! Waking up in this cabin is unreal. Sunlight floods in and the entire forest holds a cheery glow! Another perk is that the Wild Elm is super affordable cabin rental. Isn't it the worst when you see a gorgeous Airbnb on Instagram, but it's priced at $350 a night? That's always a let down. This holiday weekend won't break the bank and you still get to stay in an extremely cool spot! If you'd like to reserve the Wild Elm Cabin for a holiday getaway, you can book your stay here. I hope you have a wonderful time, return home feeling lighter, and more energized! Brooke is an awesome host, don't be shy to ask her anything. She answered my questions quickly and was always friendly. Have a peaceful trip to the Wild Elm, friends!
