Have you ever planned a trip? And had it fall through because of dates, money, or someone else couldn't make it work? It happens often, and what I've learned is, you can't do much about it. So channel the frustration and understand... The good things? *The money you saved for that trip didn't go anywhere. Better yet? You can use it for something else. *What will you do instead? Maybe pick up a few shifts, add to your spending cushion for your next trip. *Already took the time off work? Go see your family. Go to that coffee shop you heard about. Take the Amtrak somewhere. Buy six red box movies and check out your daily Pinterest roundup. *.....And sometimes the place you planned on visiting, get's terrible weather. Yet, you're on the couch with a bowl of popcorn, so whose the real winner? Your mood still eh? *Shoot for the next available weekend. Even if it's months away, it's always fun to look forward to a trip. Plus, now you have more time to plan and find even cooler places to explore. *Read a book. Or a guide book to where you wanna go. Drink Eggnog. All day. Sit somewhere pretty while doing it. *Take $10 from the trip budget and see what you can do with it. Say it's for the trip, whether you take it along or not.
